St. Petersburg, FL – The Florida Holocaust Museum is pleased to announce that Erin Blankenship, Curator of Exhibitions & Collections, has been awarded the Florida Association of Museums 2009 Innovator Award. The presentation will take place at the annual meeting and awards luncheon during the FAM Annual Conference, which will be held September 25th at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota.
Ms. Blankenship was awarded the prestigious Innovator Award for her work developing the Museum’s current Courage and Compassion exhibit about the Bielski Brothers who saved 1200 lives during the Holocaust. The compelling story was recently made into the hit movie “Defiance.”
Carolyn Bass, Executive Director of the Florida Holocaust Museum states “Erin created an exhibit that is well-researched, thoroughly documented, beautifully designed, and visually powerful.”
