Carolyn Bass, Executive Director of the Florida Holocaust Museum, tendered her resignation on February 29, 2012. She will remain in the position until it is filled and throughout the transition period.
A search committee has been formed by the Board Chair, Marty Borell. Bass and Board members Ann Piccard, Brendon Rennert, Amanda Saft, Renée Walter and Irene Weiss will identify and interview potential candidates.
Bass has been affiliated with the Florida Holocaust Museum for more than 17 years. As a committed volunteer she served as a member of the Executive Board and as a docent. During her tenure, she was the Manager of Tours and Trunks, the Operations Manager and she has been the Executive Director for five years. She is most proud of her work developing and cultivating relationships within the Tampa Bay community (business, arts and cultural, government and academic institutions), promoting Museum community outreach programs (Genocide and Human Rights Awareness Month, Speak Up Speak Now!, and the Anne Frank Humanitarian Award Program) and maintaining the stability and integrity of the Florida Holocaust Museum.
The Florida Holocaust Museum Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, community partners and donors are proud of Bass's accomplishments. We are fortunate that she will stay in her role throughout the transition.
The next Executive Director will lead the Museum in executing critical strategic priorities.
