Teaching Trunks

The Florida Holocaust Museum invites you to use our dynamic trunk curriculum to teach the lessons of the Holocaust. These large teaching trunks are designed to accommodate the needs of one class or a team of teachers. The selected material aligns with national, state, and local standards, and they are appropriate for students at each grade level. The focus was carefully selected to create a spiraling educational approach that builds upon each previous year.

"Thanks so much! My students and I loved the trunk!" Teacher, Polk County, FL

The trunks are available for a loan period of one month to public, private and parochial schools throughout the continental United States. In order to best accommodate your class, we feature a variety of grade-specific trunks (1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, and 5th grades), multi-grade trunks (3rd-5th and 6th-12th grade), and general middle school and high school trunks. Also available for loan are an elementary-level Arts trunk and a secondary-level Human Rights and Genocide trunk. All trunks contain literature, videos, CD-ROMs, a curriculum guide, and other materials selected specifically for each grade level.

"Thank you and the staff at the museum for the incredible effort that you put forth with this mission.
We enjoyed them very much!"
Teacher, Spartanburg County, SC

The Florida Holocaust Museum Education Department offers Teaching Trunks Workshops for Teachers throughout the academic year. See our list of current Teacher Trainings.

"Is there any way we can extend the time that we get the trunk? The students are loving it! We were also able to have a Holocaust survivor speak with the students this year. It was so moving. :)" Teacher, Highlands County, FL
