Growing Up as the Daughter of a Prophet with Dr. Susannah Heschel in Sarasota

Aviva – A Campus for Senior Life and The Florida Holocaust Museum are excited to welcome the extraordinary religious scholar and educator Dr. Susannah Heschel, daughter of Rabbi Abraham Josuha Heschel. Join Dr. Heschel as she shares her personal journey growing up in the very heart of the Civil Rights Movement. Learn firsthand how her father’s activism including his famous participation in Martin Luther King Jr’s march on Selma, Alabama shaped her life and provided a foundation for her work today. Experience a perspective on history, courage, and conviction not found in any museum or book as Dr. Heschel explores how she learned about faith and community activism from some of the greatest minds of the 20th century.
