Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank
Opening Event and Dessert Reception, featuring Brandon Perdomo, Exhibit Coordinator from The Anne Frank Center
January 25, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

“Let Me Be Myself” tells the story of Anne Frank in a modern way, addressing current day issues of identity, exclusion, and discrimination. Anne’s experiences connect deeply with today’s youth as they grow and learn that all actions and words matter. This exhibition also features a Virtual Reality (VR) component from Force Field VR and Oculus Studios that allows the visitor to travel back in time to Anne Frank’s hiding place, the “Secret Annex.”

Brandon Perdomo, Exhibit Coordinator from The Anne Frank Center, is an interdisciplinary artist from New York City. Having been born as a grandchild to immigrants in one of the most diverse cultural hubs in the world, his sensitivity and drive to expand inclusiveness has led him to educate, create, and celebrate within and beyond his circles. He has served on the planning committees for the annual International Day of Peace Student Observation at the United Nations, and the NY Gandhi-King Season for Nonviolence, as well as the Spirituality, Values, and Global Concerns-NY NGO Committee. The Anne Frank Center is thrilled to work with Brandon as the coordinator for their traveling exhibits program.

The Opening Event and Dessert Reception is free for The FHM members, $9 general admission. RSVPs are required via https://bookwhen.com/floridaholocaustmuseum/e/ev-seos-20200125190000 or 727.820.0100 x301.

“Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank” opens to the public on January 25, 2020 and is on display through January 24, 2021.
