To Life 2021 Virtual Benefit

Virtual Program: 7:00 pm
To Life 2021 will be held virtually on Monday, April 12th at 7:00 p.m. This one-hour program will offer an opportunity for us to connect and share in The FHM’s mission of honoring the past to create a better tomorrow for all. This is a moment in history when we all need the lessons that Holocaust Survivors have shared with us: lessons of hope and resilience.
Your support this year is essential as the demand for The FHM’s educational resources is higher than ever.
Education is the cornerstone of The FHM’s work. We teach all ages to speak out for justice, fairness, and respect, using the tragic lessons from the past as a foundation for learning. The To Life Benefit supports the educational and outreach programs provided to students and educators, at no cost, throughout the country. Right now, Holocaust denial and distortion is rising at an alarming rate as are antisemitic and racist incidents. During this time of fear and uncertainty, the commitment to never forget and to educate remains strong. We go forward with the reminder that lessons unlearned are lessons repeated.
For questions please contact Sharon Boyes at sboyes@thefhm.org.
Thank you so much for your support.
The Florida Holocaust Museum honors the memory of millions of innocent men, women and children who suffered or died in the Holocaust. The Museum is dedicated to teaching the members of all races and cultures the inherent worth and dignity of human life in order to prevent future genocides.

Loebenberg Humanitarian Award
& Legacy Award Recipients
Michael Berenbaum
Michael Berenbaum, 2021 Loebenberg Humanitarian Award honoree, has extensively studied the history of the Holocaust throughout his life. A scholar, rabbi, filmmaker, and author, Berenbaum has played pivotal roles with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, and the Sigi Ziering Institute at the American Jewish University. He is the writer and editor of eighteen books and has worked on a number of films, including two which have won Academy Awards.
Generations After
The Generations After Group, 2021 Legacy Award honoree, is a group comprised of descendants of Holocaust Survivors and Refugees who keep their family’s stories alive. The group includes members of The Florida Holocaust Museum who are in the second, third, and fourth generations after the Holocaust. As Holocaust Survivor parents and grandparents age, it’s up to the generations after to keep their stories alive. The Generations After group speaks to school groups, volunteers at The FHM, attends academic and cultural programs, and much more.
In 2003, the Loebenberg Humanitarian Award was established and named for Edie* and Walter* Loebenberg, whose dream to establish The FHM became a reality through their vision and philanthropy, as well as the support and generosity of community leaders. Each year, the Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to The FHM and their vision, foresight, and dedication have furthered the Museum’s mission to recognize the inherent worth and dignity of human life in order to prevent future genocides.
The FHM’s Legacy Award is given each year to honor a person whose commitment to sharing the story of a Holocaust Survivor empowers future generations to use the lessons of the past to create a better future. Because family and friends of Survivors will soon be the ones responsible for ensuring these stories are told, their efforts are becoming more and more essential.
